Welcome to Band

Welcome to the Forestville Public School Band website.  The band program is a valued extra-curricular addition to our school’s music program and offers students the opportunity to learn a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument in a group setting.

Being part of a band can provide children with skills that will last a lifetime. In addition to the obvious musical benefits, children involved in playing an instrument in a band program benefit socially, physically and often academically. Children learn valuable team skills, and above all have fun!

Our band program is run by a dedicated team of parents as a sub-committee to the P&C.  We encourage parents to attend committee meetings and value any thoughts, input and feedback.  In addition to the committee, our program cannot run without the help of parent/carer volunteers to help with events and rehearsal supervision, which is also a fantastic way to see the bands in action.
